A Nice Halloween Followed By Another Mostly Rainy Day
The kids lucked out last night with a very nice Halloween night. What began as a rainy, dark day turned into a very nice evening. Highs were in the 50s and the skies cleared up just in time for the trick or treaters. I don’t know how many kids still go from door to door looking for treats. I’m told by many people that there aren’t near as many as there used to be. I think that more are going to parties now rather than the usual neighborhood begging. It is safer and weather doesn’t really affect it. I’m told that we had quite a thunderstorm early Wednesday morning that put on quite a light show. I slept through it, darn it!
Right now (9:30 AM), our temperature is 43°F (6°C), the humidity is 83%, and winds are from the north but calm. The pressure is 29.90 in (1012.5 mb) and falling. The dew point is 40°F (4°C) and visibility is 10 miles. There was 0.21″ of rain in my gauge since 5:30 yesterday morning. Yesterday’s high was 55°F (13°C) and the overnight low wa 44°F (7°C). Normals for this date are 53°F / 38°F. The record high for Nov. 1 is 79°F (26°C) set in 1950, and the record low is 21°F (-6°C) set in 1976.
