Another Very Windy Day In Mid Michigan

Another Very Windy Day In Mid Michigan

Our morning began with rain, but now the sun is out and it appears to be a beautiful day.  But just step outdoors where the wind can hit you, and it doesn’t feel so nice.  Strong winds have been the norm this spring, which is to be expected with these extreme temperature variations that we have had.  Today will be cool, but then another blast of 70 degree weather for the weekend.  We really need the rain that we received…

A Rainy, Chilly Thursday For Mid Michigan

A Rainy, Chilly Thursday For Mid Michigan

Our morning began with a few sprinkles, but it has now progressed into a steady rain.  Temperatures won’t even come close to average today but at least it isn’t snowing.  It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of April already, and I hope that the summer doesn’t pass at quickly as this spring is.  We really are having a lovely spring so far and I figure that the leaves are about 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule.  The…

Another Cold Day In Mid Michigan

Another Cold Day In Mid Michigan

Our temperatures were supposed to be in the 60s today and it isn’t going to happen.  In fact, we’ll be doing good to hit 50°F.  Tomorrow is supposed to reach 80°F and I’m wondering if that will happen.  Not only is is cold, but it’s also windy and that makes it seem even colder.   I’m hoping that we see a little sun but not looking good right now.  Yesterday turned out quite nice and skies cleared up by late in…

A Cloudy Morning Give Way To A Sunny Afternoon – Mid Michigan

A Cloudy Morning Give Way To A Sunny Afternoon – Mid Michigan

Our morning was cloudy and very chilly, but skies started clearing by noon, and it has become a lovely afternoon.  Unfortunately, temps are cold and a brisk wind makes it even colder.  We have very warm, summer-like temperatures coming over the next several days and we have that to look forward to.  But, of course, storms will probably come with them.  This is supposed to be our rainy season so getting more rain in okay and good for the farmers….

Rain Moving In For This Afternoon

Rain Moving In For This Afternoon

This morning has been dry and mild, but rain is showing up on radar and should be here soon.  We aren’t expecting a lot, but it will probably be wet most of this afternoon and early evening.  The temperatures seem to be stabilizing at near normal levels, and I’m not seeing any extreme cold coming in the near future. Our 12:15 PM temperature is 59°F (15°C), the humidity is 50% and winds are from the ESE at 2-6 mph.  Skies…

Warmth Returning to Mid Michigan

Warmth Returning to Mid Michigan

After three days of below normal temperatures, we will finally see our temps back up where they should be.  The past three nights have brought heavy frost to some areas and I haven’t heard anything about fruit damage yet.  None of my plants seem to be affected but perennials are quite hardy anyway.  The leaves continue to come out a little more every day and we’re seeing the forsythias and azaleas in full bloom.  This is such a great time…

An Unseasonably Cold Day In Mid Michigan

An Unseasonably Cold Day In Mid Michigan

Today began with clear skies but now clouds are filling most of the sky.  Temperatures are only in the 40s and there is a brisk wind from the north.  It feels more like March than mid April, but we are promised that warm temps are on the way.  In fact, next Tuesday could reach near 80°F.  Unfortunately, that also brings the possibility of some severe weather, although most is supposed to stay to our south.  Since I no longer get…

Rain / Snow Mix In Our Forecast – Mid Michigan

Rain / Snow Mix In Our Forecast – Mid Michigan

The possible snowstorm that was predicted for us now appears to be mostly moving south of us.  We may see some snow showers but not much, if any, accumulations.  That makes me very happy.  After flowers are in bloom, no one wants to see snow.  My daffodils are beautiful and the tulips are coming up.  Today began with some sun but now it is cloudy, rainy, and very windy. Radar is showing a line of showers moving across the state…

Totally Beautiful Today In Mid Michigan

Totally Beautiful Today In Mid Michigan

Today is an absolutely gorgeous day. We better enjoy it because there is snow in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. Mark was showing that my area can expect 2 to 5 inches. I’m hoping it’s only two or even less. It is hard to be thinking snow after the weather that we’ve had for the past two weeks. But it’s only April and anything can happen weather-wise. I’m taking my dog and going out and enjoying what we have…

Snow In Our Forecast! Can You Believe it? – Mid Michigan

Snow In Our Forecast! Can You Believe it? – Mid Michigan

Today is a lovely, seasonable day, but I’m hearing that we could get 2-5 inches of snow in the next few days.  At least we know that it won’t last long, but snow, after the wonderful weather that we’ve been having, is hard to grasp.  Hopefully they’ll be wrong and it will be rain instead.  Our morning began with plenty of sun and frost, but now we have clouds moving in.  Highs today should reach our normal which is the…
