Another Blah, Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan
Highs yesterday reached just enough above freezing to make the road muddy, but not really enough to get rid of any snow cover. We still have about 2 inches on the ground and no more is expected for a while. In fact, a local forecaster is saying that we could see a bit of sun over the next few days. That would be nice. It does seem, however, that when we have a sunny day, the temperatures are a lot colder. But it is January and I guess we should just be happy that we aren’t buried in tons of snow. What is really unusual is even our upper peninsula doesn’t have that much snow at this time. They are usually buried in it by mid January.
Our 2 PM temperature is 29F (-2C), the humidity is 84%, and winds are from the NE at 4-11 mph. The dew point is 24F (-4C) and the wind chill is 23F (-5C). Visibility is 10 miles. The pressure is 30.09 in (1019.0 mb) and falling. Skies are overcast. Yesterday’s high was 36F (2C) and the overnight low was 19F (-7C). Averages for this date are 31F / 20F.
