Hello to everyone from Weatherbug Backyard.  It will seem great to hear from all of you again.  This is my first post on Weatherquack, and am still trying to figure it out.  I haven’t found how to add pictures, but I’m sure that someone can enlighten me.

This has been yet another very windy day.  I just received a post on Facebook from local meteorologist, Mark Torragrossa, that this has been the windiest May for us in 20 year.  It’s really getting annoying to be sure.  I was planting flowers most of the day, and now my back is very sore.  I’m thinking that I’m getting too old for this sort of thing and my body is protesting.  I’m hoping that I can finish tomorrow if I’m not in too much pain.

Other than the wind, our weather was quite nice today.  The sun was intermittent and temps didn’t quite make it to the 70s, but that made it perfect for working in the yard.  Yesterday was cloudy and we had a very brief, but moderate shower about 8 PM last night, leaving 0.05″ in my rain gauge.  We didn’t get any rain today although it looked like it a few times.

Our 8:30 PM temp is 62.1°F, the humidity is 43%. and skies are mostly clear.  Winds are from the west at 10 mph, and the pressure is 29.94″ and  steady.  Visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 71°F and last night’s low was 49°F.

OUR FORECAST:

Tonight:  Mostly clear with lows in the mid 40s.  Southwest winds at 5-15 mph becoming light and variable.,

Thursday:  Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70s.  Southwest winds at 5-15 mph becoming west at 10-20 mph.

Thursday Night:  Clear with a low of 50°F.  West winds 5-15 mph becoming light and variable.

Friday:  Mostly sunny early then becoming partly cloudy.  Highs in the mid 70s.  West winds 5-15 mph.

  1. Hi Cathy,
still trying to get the hang of this myself….hit media and you upload images from there

  2. Hi Cathie!
Josh is correct. To insert pictures into your posts, click on “Add Media”, then “upload file”, and you’ll figure it all out from there. If you want a picture to appear next to your blog post on the home page, you’ll want to use the “Set Featured Image” on the bottom right sidebar in the blog editor.
If you want to embed videos or widgets to your weather station in your blog posts, just switch to “Text” mode, and copy/paste the code from a video’s share button or from your weather station widget into the page.
I’m hoping to put together a screencast overviewing WeatherQuack, and I wanted to have it ready by Day 1, but my screencasting utility had other plans. 🙂
