It’s Hot, Even in Northern Michigan
Yesterday was stifling with temps in the low 90s and very humid conditions. This is just unreal for late September in Michigan, but especially in northern Michigan. Normally highs are only in the 60s this time of year. What’s even more remarkable is how dry it is. There were storms forming just to our northwest late yesterday afternoon, but we never had a drop of rain here. Radar looked like the Cheboygan area got a good soaking but all we had was some thunder. We will continue to have this July weather into next week before temperatures drop more to the normal level.
The temperature at 9 AM in Topinabee is 64°F (18°C), the dew point is 63°F (17°C) and skies are partly cloudy. Winds are from the SW at 7 mph, and the humidity is at 95%. Yesterday’s high was 93°F (34°C) and the overnight low was 62°F (17°C). Averages for this date are 62°F / 52°F. The record high temp for Sept. 22 was 84°F (29°C) set in 1984. That was broken yesterday by 10 degrees. The record low is 27°F (-3°C) set in 1956.
