Unseasonable Cold Returns To Mid Michigan

Unseasonable Cold Returns To Mid Michigan

We received a few snow showers yesterday leaving us with an additional 0.03 ” of new snow.  Our ground cover is about 2.5 inches at this time and another round of snow is expected this weekend although just an inch or two.  The worse part is that another polar vortex is heading our way next week.  Meteorological spring will begin tomorrow but it will feel like anything but spring.  On the positive side, we seem to be having more sunny days lately although they aren’t bringing much warmth.  Local weather gurus are predicting below normal temps for the first half of March.

Our 8:45 AM temp is 7°F (-14°C), the humidity is 85% and skies are mostly clear with a little haze.  Visibility is 7 miles and winds are calm.  The pressure is 30.25 in (1024.4 mb) and steady.  Yesterday’s high was 23°F (-5°C) and the overnight low was 5°F (-15°C).  Average temps for this date are 33°F / 19°F.   Sunrise this morning was at 7:14 AM and sunset will be at 6:24 PM.
