The system which brought record snowfall to Montana is now over us, and I guess we should just be happy that we are getting rain and not snow.  It started raining yesterday morning and continued throughout the night.  The rain yesterday was intermittent and not that heavy.  Last night, however, was a different story.  A slow moving thunderstorm approached right around midnight and left 1.07″ in my rain gauge.  That was in addition to the 0.38″ from earlier in the day.  Many areas received over 3 inches.  Today looks like it will be more of the same and there is a flood watch for my area.  Rain is expected to continue until Friday.
