Our weather keeps switching from typical winter weather to spring-like. Crazy! Today is more like winter again but highs in the 40s will return over the next few day. Yesterday was a mess but fortunately, most of the precipitation was already ice before hitting the ground. That saved us from more power outages than what there were. I measured about 1.5 inches of ice on my snow board this morning, and my rain gauge had to be thawed out with a hair dryer. The rain began around midnight and has continued through this morning. There was 1.70 inches in my guage at 8:30 and it hasn’t stopped raining since. This morning is very cold with intermittent lake effect show squalls. We received a trace of snow overnight and it looks like snow will be here most of the day. Yesterday was a very rare day for January here in Michigan. For the entire day, there wasn’t one cloud in the skiy. We didn’t see any until almost dark.
