Typical Summer Weather For Mid Michigan
We took a drive to Sleeper State Park in Caseville yesterday. Caseville is in the thumb area of the state and was a favorite camping destination for us when my kids were little. We hadn’t been there in years and I was curious as to how much of the beach was lost to the record water levels of Lake Huron. Needless to say, much of the beach was gone. There was only about 20-30 ft of sand left compared to about 100-150 ft previously. It was very crowded with people which surprised me a bit since it was a weekday, but I know that many are out of work due to the virus.
Yesterday was a perfect Michigan summer day. Highs reached near 90 degrees and winds were light. Skies were clear all day but some clouds moved in at dusk, just enough to keep us from seeing the comet. We’ll try again tonight.
Our 10:15 AM temperature is 79°F (26°C), the humidity is 61%, and skies are partly cloudy. Winds are from the S at 4-6 mph, and the pressure is 29.99 in (1015.6 mb) and falling. The dew point is 68°F (20°C) and the heat index is 81°F (27°C). Visibility is 10 miles. Yesterday’s high was 88°F (31°C) and the overnight low was 64°F (18°C).
