Today is a little cooler than yesterday but still very pleasant. Some areas reported a little rain overnight and my weather station is showing one lightning strike 17 miles away. The rain has diminished somewhat but still coming down. Over the past two days, we have received 2.86 inches and the flood watch continues until 11PM tonight. We also have some fog developing. The rain began yesterday afternoon and intermittent heavy showers continued through the afternoon. More steady rain developed overnight and there was 0.90″ in my gauge at 8AM. It has been raining steadily since then. I’m seeing on the CoCoRahs map that the Detroit area has received well over three inches in many places. A flood watch is in effect until tomorrow morning. We are expecting very heavy rain over the next three days and a flood watch has been issued for most of southern lower Michigan. We received a little rain so far but not enough to affect us. It’s time for cider mills and donuts once again. This is my favorite time of year, especially when the weather has been like it has lately. As we drove home from Indian River yesterday, we ran into some pretty impressive storm clouds. We received a severe thunderstorm watch on the way, but didn’t see any of that.
