There was freezing drizzle late yesterday and overnight making my deck very slippery this morning. But the sun came out and temperatures rose to 35°F which melted most of the ice. The temperature was only 2°F when I got up this morning and we won’t see highs reaching much above 20F today. January is certainly here. At least the winds aren’t too bad. Yesterday was sunny but very cold. The low temp on my weather station read 0°F yesterday although temps from the airport showed 4°F as the low. Yesterday was cloudy with light snow falling most of the day. The heavier snow came later and overnight. We got what was predicted (3-6 inches) and I’m happy with that. Our morning has seen temperatures falling since early morning and the snow is expected to begin late this afternoon. Most local meteorologists have settled for a forecast of 3-6 inches for most of southern lower Michigan.
