Winter Has Returned to Mid Michigan

Winter Has Returned to Mid Michigan

After listening to our forecast for last night. we were supposed to originally get only a trace of snow to an inch.  Then they increased it to 2-3 inches.  We woke this morning to  4.5 inches.  Not what we expected at all. The sky has cleared somewhat over the past 2 hours, and it is already melting where it is plowed and shoveled.  Unfortunately, we have some extremely cold temperatures moving in for tomorrow, so what doesn’t melt today will be with us until at least Sunday.  But we have plenty to be happy about.  Beginning Sunday, temperatures will warm up considerably, and we can expect highs in the 50s all next week.  That’s good for all of us winter-weary people.

Our 2:30 PM temperature is 30°F (-1°C), the humidity is 64%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the west at 6-13 mph and the dew point is 17°F (8°C).  The wind chill is 26°F (-3°C).  The pressure is 29.77 in (1008.1 mb) and falling.  Yesterday’s high was 35°F (2°C) and the overnight low was 20°F (-7°C).  Average temps for this date are 40°F / 24°F.  Sunrise was at 6:55 AM and sunset will be at 6:37 PM.
