After a very nice Tuesday, today probably will not be very pleasant. We could be in line for some pretty hefty storms this afternoon and tonight. Yesterday brought, what has become, a weekly rash of tornadoes from the deep south up into Minnesota. Today may be our turn, although chances remain quite low. Today has been gorgeous, but unfortunately, it isn’t going to last. There is some very stormy weather expected this upcoming week although Michigan isn’t expected to be affected that much. We can expect more wet weather and temps above normal before another cold air system strikes later in the week. Yesterday brought intermittent rain showers which even turned into hail around 3:30PM. It came down hard and covered the ground before it quit. After 7:05turning back to rain, it soon all melted. Yesterday morning began with rain, and it continued until late afternoon. Then the skies cleared and we had about two hours of sunshine. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long, and we received more rain overnight. Today is chilly once again and there are puddles standing everywhere. The river is high and over it’s banks in many places. The storm systems that have been affecting the eastern portions of the country seem to be unrelenting, and keep training in from the west. …
Our morning has been very wet, with rain changing to snow. It came down quite hard for a while, and left about half an inch of snow cover. But now most of it has melted. Saturday brought us cloudy skies a and little rain late in the day. There was a trace of snow here and there when I got up this morning but it appeared that most had melted already. After a very blustery Thursday, winds are much calmer today, but it feels like winter once again. A few minutes ago, we were having a snow shower. Now the sun is out. That’s what we can expect most of today. We had wind gusts yesterday up to 45 mph, but they diminished considerably by the end of the day.
