Michigan Recovering From Ice Storm
There are many who are still without power, and reinforcements are coming in from neighboring states to help with repairs . Local power companies estimate that most power should be restored by Sunday night. Our ground cover is white, but not with snow. It is all ice, mainly sleet, two inches of it. There won’t be any melting today since temps aren’t expected to rise above freezing. Right now, the sun is surprising us with a visit, but I don’t expect it to last very long. Skies are mostly cloudy with a few breaks. I’m already hearing of another major storm moving across the country, and it is expected to reach us by early next week. I haven’t really heard much of what we can expect but freezing rain is mentioned again. I can’t believe that it’s snowing in LA! One thing that we have to say for this winter is that it hasn’t been boring.
Our 2:45 PM temperature is 27°F (-3°C), the humidity is 63%, and skies are cloudy. Winds are from the NW at 37 mph and the dew point is 12°F (-11°C). The pressure is 30.43 in (1030.5 mb) and falling. Visibility is 11 miles and the wind chill is 18°F (-8°C). Yesterday’s high was 37°F (3°C) and the overnight low was 19°F (-7°C). Sunrise was at 7:22 AM and sunset will be at 6:20 PM.
