A Beautiful Day In May – Mid Michigan

Thank you to Janine Wells-Wilk for the use of her photo today.  It clearly shows how lovely our weather has become.  Other than a few showers here and there, we really can’t complain.  Yesterday was mostly cloudy but mild.  Today has been sunny with highs reaching the low 70s, very comfortable for us.  Severe storms continue to batter the south and central portions of our country.  Unfortunately, there is more to come for them.  All of it has remained south of Michigan so far, and May is usually our stormy month.  Several states have had baseball-size hail which is hard to imagine, and I feel so bad for the livestock that has little or no shelter from it.  We did have a few drops of rain yesterday but it only measured 0.01″ in my gauge.  The highest rain amounts that I saw this morning on CoCoRahs were 0.10″ down in Livingston County.

Our 3:15 PM temperature is 71°F (22°C), the humidity is 27%, and the dew point is 28°F (-2°C).  The pressure is 30.18 in (1022.0 mb) and steady. Winds are from the SE at 2-7 mph. and skies are mostly clear.  Visibility is 16 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 71°F (22°C) and the overnight low was 40°F (4°C).  Average temps for this date are 67°F/44°F.  Sunrise was at 6:21 AM and sunset will be at 8:46 PM.

DURAND / OWOSSO FORECAST:

Tonight:  Mostly clear.  Low 47°F (8°C).  Winds ESE at 5-10 mph.

Wednesday:  Mostly sunny.  High 77°F (25°C).  Winds light and variable.

Wednesday Night:  Clear skies.  Low 51°F (11°C).  Winds light and variable.
