Sunny But Cold . . . . .
It looks like a very pretty day, but it is too cold for my liking. Temps aren’t even expected to reach the freezing mark, but at least the sun gives the illusion of being warmer. This cold will be short-lived with highs in the 50s and possible 60s expected for next week. These few warm days really spoil us, and it’s difficult to remember that it is still February. We aren’t even getting any rain which is unusual for winter in Michigan and way too many sunny days for this time of year. As I said before, I’m afraid that we’ll be getting our winter weather in March and April when the growing season begins. But time will tell.
Our 2 PM temperature is 29°F (-2°C), the humidity is 56% and winds are from the NW at 3-8 mph. The pressure is 29.97 in (1014.9 mb) and steady, and visibility is 11 miles. Yesterday’s high was 46°F (8°C) and the overnight low was 16°F (-9°C). Average temps for this date are 36°F/19°F. The record high for Feb. 23 is 64°F (18°C) set in 1984, and the record low is -17°F (-8°C) set in 1894. Today’s sunrise was at 7:23 AM and sunset will be at 6:19 PM.
