Tornadoes, Windy Weather . . . . .
I heard that there were seven tornadoes late yesterday which struck the southwest corner of our state. There was only supposed to be a very slight chance of severe weather, and even a lesser chance for tornadoes. Portage, MI got the worst of it, but there was damage in other areas as well. The watches and warnings didn’t come up as far as my county but Lansing was included. I always enjoy a good thunderstorm, but not when they bring tornadoes with them.
Today we have a lot of wind but clear skies. Temps will be warm, then they take a dive for next week. Tornado weather always seems to bring much cooler temperatures. Our 3 PM temperature is 74°F, the humidity is 47%, and skies are clear. Winds are from the W at 15 mph, gusting to 31 mph. The pressure is 29.70 in and rising, and the dew point is 48°F. Visibility is 12 miles. Yesterday’s high was 72°F and the overnight low was 53°F. Average temps for this date are 67°F/44°F. Sunrise was at 6:22 AM and sunset will be at 43 PM.
