Summer-Like . . . .

Summer-Like . . . .

Today will be very warm with highs expected to reach the mid 80s  We had scattered thunderstorms develop across the state late yesterday, and there was a lot of thunder, but not much rain . . . . . at least not here where I am.  There is no more rain in the forecast until late Monday, and it’s just a slight chance.  Tuesday could be a stormy one for us, and we are already being warned.  What’s interesting is that there were 589 lightning strikes on my weather station from yesterday, and all we got was a few sprinkles.

Our 10:45 AM temperature is 73°F, the humidity is 65%, and winds are from the SSE at 1-4 mph.  Skies are clear and the pressure is 29.98 in and rising.  The dew point is 58°F and visibility is 12 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 81°F and the overnight low was 55°F.  Average temps for this date are 70°F/47°F.  The record high for May 17 is 89°F set in 1962, and the record low is 28°F set in 1973.  Sunrise was at 6:11 AM, and sunset will be at 8:57 PM.
