Severe Weather Possible For Us . . . .

The weather service has us, as well as much of the mid portions of the country,  targeted for severe weather today.  What’s worse is that my area is expecting it late tonight or early tomorrow morning.  Yesterday’s storms stayed to our north although we did get 0.20″ of rain.  Severe storm warnings were issued for counties just north of us  There are a  lot of lightning strikes showing on my weather station, but none were close.

Our 10:30 AM temperature is 64°F (18°C), the humidity is 88%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the NW at 2-6 mph, and the pressure is 29.94 in (1013.9 mb) and steady.  The dew point is 58°F (14°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 84°F (29°C) and the overnight low was 60°F (16°C).  Average temps for this date are 71°F/48°F.  The record high for May 20 is 93°F (34°C) set in 1977, and the record low is 32°F (0°C) set in 2002.  Sunrise was at 6:08 AM, and sunset will be at 9:00 PM.

DURAND / OWOSSO FORECAST:

Today:  Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Becoming partly sunny late.  High 86°F (30°C).  Winds SW at 5-10 mph.

Tonight:  Showers and thunderstorms likely.  Some could be severe.  Low 69°F (21°C).  Winds S at 10-15 mph, gusting higher at times.  Chance of rain 40%.

Wednesday:  Cloudy early, becoming mostly sunny.  High 76°F (24°C).  Winds WSW at 15-25 mph, gusting higher at times.
