Much Cooler Today . . . .

Much Cooler Today . . . .

Today actually feels chilly compared to what we’ve been having.  It’s perfect for doing outdoor work.    It’s a bit breezy but just comfortable.  We are expecting dry weather through the weekend and into early next week.  It’s about time.  We did have a very brief shower, or a hard sprinkle would be more accurate, early yesterday afternoon.  There was only 0.01″ in my gauge from it. Our 2:45 PM temperature is 73°F, the humidity is 54%, and skies are partly…

Hit And Miss Showers . . . .

Hit And Miss Showers . . . .

Our morning has been sunny, but now we have a fast formed little line of showers moving over us.  All we are getting is a few sprinkles, and there is still a lot of blue sky showing.  We only had a 30% chance of seeing any rain today, and by golly!  It happened!  Temps will be much cooler today, and I think that we may just be able to go without the AC. Our 1 PM temperature is 72°F, the…

Windy And Warm After The Storms . . . .

Windy And Warm After The Storms . . . .

There were storms last night and even a few tornado warnings.  They were for the SW counties of the state.  I haven’t heard if there were actually any tornadoes, but there was wind damage reported.  My area was once again spared.  Our forecast is calling for more possible storms this afternoon, but so far, all is quiet. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 81°F (27°C), the humidity is 70%, and skies are partly to mostly cloudy.    The Heat Index is 84°F…

Another Steamy Day . . . .

Another Steamy Day . . . .

Last night brought some strong, noisy thunderstorms which I slept through, that left 0.34″ in my gauge.  I see that many places got much more than that, and even some severe storms in the southwest corner of the state.  We could see more tonight.  Right now, it is very warm and humid, with highs expected to reach the upper 80s, and they are well on there way now.  We do have a chance for rain today, but the chances increase…

Very Warm And Muggy . . . . .

Very Warm And Muggy . . . . .

It really feels like the dog days of summer.  It is very hot and muggy . . . . just a good day to stay indoors unless you have a pool.  All the storms which were suppose to arrive last night totally missed us, but the worst ones are expected tonight.  I hope we don’t get anything severe right at bedtime. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 84°F, the humidity is 67%, and the dew point is also 67°F.  It’s very…

Another Fine Summer Day . . . .

Another Fine Summer Day . . . .

Today will be a winner, but strong storms could be our fate for tomorrow.  So far we aren’t included in the projected severe area, but that could change.  We’ll have to see how that develops. Our 11:45 AM temperature is 83°F, the humidity is 68%, and winds are from the S at 1-5 mph.  Skies are partly cloudy, and the pressure is 29.98 in and steady.  The dew point is 67°F and visibility is 11 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 84°F,…

A Nice Morning . . . .

A Nice Morning . . . .

Our morning has had a mix of clouds and sun, and it has now become mostly sunny.  Highs should reach the low 80s and there is the possibility that we could see some rain.  Other than that, there isn’t much more that can be said. Our 12:15 PM temperature is 79°F (26°C), the humidity is 66%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the WNW at 2-6 mph.  The pressure is 29.97 in (1014.9 mb) and steady, and the…

Beryl Leaving Us Very Wet . . . .

Beryl Leaving Us Very Wet . . . .

Post Tropical Storm Beryl left her calling card last night and early today.  The rain has finally stopped and radar is showing most of it past us.  There was 2.52″ in my rain gauge at 8:30 this morning, and we received another 0.43″ since then.  Temperatures have cooled off remarkably and it feels good.  It won’t last, however, with highs back into the upper 80s again next week.  We are under a flood watch until 8 PM tonight, but we…

Beryl Is On The Way . . .

Beryl Is On The Way . . .

My knees are hurting, so Beryl must be on the way.  I’m surprised that the barometer isn’t lower than it is.  Winds aren’t supposed to be an issue, but we are expecting large amounts of rain.  A flood watch is in effect.  As for today, we can expect showers and thunderstorms with rain developing tonight.  Temperatures will still be very warm, but cooler than yesterday.  Right now we have hazy sun and a thin cloud cover.  It’s actually quite nice….
