Clear Skies, Warm Temperatures . . .
We have another day just like the past week. No rain, clear skies, light breezes, and plenty of bugs. I think we have more bugs now than we’ve had all summer. I guess they like the dry, warm weather. I’m noticing the bird traffic at my feeding station isn’t as busy as it has been. I have mostly wood peckers and the humming birds are still coming around. I haven’t seen an oriole in about two weeks, and almost no cardinals or bluejays lately. My suet cake has lasted about a week where they needed replacing every few days through the summer. Maybe with the farmers doing the harvesting, there is plenty for them to eat elsewhere.
