Lots Of Sunshine . . . .

Lots Of Sunshine . . . .

Today is promising to be a very nice day.  We are expecting sun and much warmer temps.  Our next chance for rain is tomorrow night.  I’m not seeing any mention of snow anytime soon, so that’s a good thing. Our 1:15 PM temp is 53°F (12°C), the humidity is 36%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the SE at 3-6 mph and the pressure is 30.20 in (1022.7 mb) and steady.  The dew point is 24°F (-4°C) and visibility…

Feels More Like Spring . . . .

Feels More Like Spring . . . .

This morning looks and feels like spring although still a bit chilly.  Yesterday was cold with a mix of snow, then rain.  It wasn’t much to measure but just enough to dampen the day.  We should see temps reach into the low 50s today, much better than yesterday.  I’ve been in the hospital the past three days.  A simple medical procedure turned into much more.  Now I’m sort of limited in my activities for the next 6 weeks.  But somehow,…

Cool But Sunny . . . .

Cool But Sunny . . . .

Today is my daughter’s birthday so we spent yesterday in the Detroit area celebrating.  The weather was cloudy but temps were mild and it was dry.  Today is cooler but we have more sun, so not a bad day at all. Our 12:45 PM temperature is 43°F (6°C), the humidity is 42%, and winds are from the N at 5-9 mph.  The pressure is 30.00 in  (1015.9 mb) and falling.  The dew point is 19°F (-7°C) and visibility is 10…

Tranquil Weather Ahead . . . .

Tranquil Weather Ahead . . . .

The south continues to have devastating storms while we are enjoying calm and a little sun this morning.  Temperatures have cooled off considerably but we knew that was coming.  I just found out that some friends in Byron lost a large barn in Sunday’s storms.  There were 200 cattle inside, and thanks to family and friends, all cattle were rescued.  Yesterday brought strong winds but otherwise was decent.  I think we have enough rain for awhile. Our 1 PM temperature…

We Survived The Storms . . . .

We Survived The Storms . . . .

Between the ice storm to our north, and the severe weather to our south,  I feel very fortunate this morning.  although we had rain all day yesterday, and some rumbles of thunder, nothing major happened here.  We received  just under 2 inches of rain.  There were 9 confirmed tornadoes on Sunday although most of them were quite weak.  It was nothing compared to what the states to our south had to endure.  Looking at the national weather map, it appears…

A Terrible Weather Day . . . .

A Terrible Weather Day . . . .

We began our day with thunder and  moderate to heavy rain.  This is going to be an eye to the sky day as severe weather is knocking on our door once again.  People up north are in a desperate situation as 1.5″ of ice covers everything, and many tree branches are snapping.  Our governor has finally sent in the national guard to help rescue those trapped in their homes.  95% of northern Michigan is still without power.  Many pictures are…

More Psychotic Weather . . . .

More Psychotic Weather . . . .

It looks like tomorrow could be a repeat of Sunday.  Once again, there is a slight risk for severe weather and many have not recovered yet from Sunday.  So far, there are 4 confirmed tornadoes and some are still being investigated.  As for us, we lost a tree but it was half dead anyway.  The strange thing is that temps are expected to rise tomorrow just enough to fuel these storms.  Then temps will fall into the 30s again with…
