Blustery And Very Cold – Mid Michigan

Although our snow amounts aren’t impressive, strong winds are causing havoc on the roads.  A good portion of I-75 is closed between Flint and Saginaw, and sporadic power outages are being reported.  We haven’t lost ours and I consider us to be very lucky.  The snow began early yesterday evening, along with some rain mixed in.  Later it turned to all snow along with increasing winds.  Our Owosso airport is reporting wind gusts up to 44 mph at this time.  A winter storm warning remains in effect until tomorrow morning, and temps will be struggling to reach the teens today.

Our 12:30 PM temperature is 8°F, the humidity is 84%, and winds are from the west at 32 – 44 mph.    The dew point is 2°F and the pressure is 29.26 in and steady.  Skies are cloudy and we have approximately 5.2 inches of snow cover.  The wind chill is -14°F and visibility is less than a mile.  Yesterday’s high was 36°F and the overnight low was 6°F.  Sunrise was at 8:06 AM and sunset will be at 5:06 PM.
