After A Busy Weather Day – Mid Michigan
Yesterday was an unbelievable day of severe storms and tornadoes throughout the mid-section of the US. It began fairly early in the afternoon, and continued throughout the night. We had just a nice summer-type thunderstorm around 9 PM, which dumped a little over and inch of rain on us. Earlier, we had a little over quarter of an inch, so I think we have enough rain for awhile. I watched the happenings on different YouTube weather channels and was a bit concerned as the estimated severe storm area moved a little close to Michigan. In fact, there was a severe thunderstorm warning for a short time in the southern-most counties of the state. My heart goes out to those who were affected and lost their homes in those storms.
Today we have a damp, gloomy day. Our high for the day already happened early this morning, and the temp has been dropping since then. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 40°F (4°C), the humidity is 78%, and winds are from the west at 6-16 mph. The dew point is 32°F (0°C) and the pressure is 29.44 in (997.0 mb) and rising. Visibility is 10 miles. Yesterday’s high was 53°F (12°C) and the overnight low was 39°F (4°C). Average temps for this date are 51°F/31°F. Sunrise was at 7:20 AM and sunset will be at 8:03 PM.
