Yesterday was quite pleasant until the storms moved in.  There were no storm warnings, but were told that some storms could be heavy.  We had an intense downpour around 3 PM which left  0.80″ in my gauge.  Then a little more rain happened  overnight, dropping another 0.10″.  Livonia, a suburb of Detroit, was hit by an EF1 tornado, which resulted in the death of a little boy, and his mother critically injured.  This same system moved east resulting in more tornadoes in Ohio and Maryland.  It was supposed to be a low severe weather day.  It just goes to show that Mother Nature has a mind of her own.  Meanwhile, the cold front has moved through, and there will be much cooler weather for us in the week ahead.

Our 12:15 PM temperature is 72°F (22°C), the humidity is 54%, and winds are from the SW at 4-12 mph.  The pressure is 29.61 in and steady, and visibility is 13 miles.  Skies are clear and the dew point is 52°F (11°C).  Yesterday’s high was 80°F (27°C), and the overnight low was 58°F.  Average temps for this date are 76°F/54°F.  The record high for June 5 is 96°F (36°C), set in 1925, and the record low is 40°F (4°C) set in 1998.  Sunrise this morning was at 5:59 AM, and sunset will be at 9:13 PM.
