We Survived The Ice Storm But Could Get More Tonight – Mid Michigan
Yesterday was a mess but fortunately, most of the precipitation was already ice before hitting the ground. That saved us from more power outages than what there were. I measured about 1.5 inches of ice on my snow board this morning, and my rain gauge had to be thawed out with a hair dryer. There was 0.74″ melted in my gauge which gave us well over two inches of precip over the past two days. Flood warnings remain in effect for today and NOAA is saying that more freezing rain is a slight possibility tonight. State Police were warning everyone to stay home unless they absolutely had to go out.
Our 12:15 PM temperature is 24°F (-4°C), the humidity is 87%, and skies are mostly cloudy. Winds are from the NNE at 3 mph, and the pressure us 30.31 in (1026.4 mb) and rising. The dew point is 19°F (-7°C) and visibility is 10 miles. Yesterday’s high was 51°F (11°C) which happened at midnight, the the overnight low was 18°F (-8°C). Averages for this date are 29°F / 17°F.
