Still Hot In Mid Michigan . . . . .

Still Hot In Mid Michigan . . . . .

We have the home stretch of our hot temps today and tomorrow.  Highs next week are expected to only reach into the 70s.  I’m ready for it.   With all the rain that we’ve had lately, the mosquitoes are getting bad.  Between those and the hot temperatures, being outdoors isn’t pleasant.  I think I’m ready for fall.  It’s my favorite season anyway. Our 10:15 AM temperature is 76F, the humidity is 79%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the north…

Rain Brought Cooler Temps . . . .

Rain Brought Cooler Temps . . . .

We received a good dousing of rain last night which left 0.55″ in my rain gauge.  This morning is mostly cloudy but no more showers have happened.  Rain remains in our forecast, but nothing much is showing on radar at this time.  Temperatures will be a little cooler today but it won’t last long.  Another blast of hot air will be with us for the weekend.  Then we can look forward to more comfortable temps next week. Our 11 AM…

Very Warm And Humid, Storms On The Way . . . .

Today has been very warm since this morning, and there is no relief from the heat until Monday.  Meanwhile, we can expect some hefty storms tonight and tomorrow.  Some could drop some pretty impressive rain amounts according to local meteorologist, Mark Torregrossa with M Live.  We have had partly cloudy skies and plenty of sun up until now, but some dark clouds are beginning to move in.  Radar is showing rain coming off of Lake Michigan into the Grand Rapids…

Sunny But Too Warm . . . .

Sunny But Too Warm . . . .

We had clear skies this morning, but now a thin cloud cover has taken over.  There is a slight chance of some storms developing later and highs could reach 90 degrees.  This weather pattern will continue until the middle of next week when a cold front is expected to arrive.  We should then have much more comfortable temperatures. Our 1 PM temperature is 85°F (29°C), the humidity is 66%, and winds are from the S at 2-7 mph.  The pressure…

Partly Cloudy And Very Warm . . . .

Partly Cloudy And Very Warm . . . .

Yesterday was very uncomfortable with highs reaching the mid  80s and very humid.  Today will see more clouds with some sun, which is starting to show itself.  Rain began late yesterday, and continued overnight.  We only received     0.42″ of rain, but other areas got well over an inch.  There were a few severe storm warnings issued, and even a tornado warning.  I haven’t heard any damage reports however. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 80°F (27°C), the humidity is 74%, and…

A Perfect Saturday . . . .

A Perfect Saturday . . . .

We have very few days that are considered to be perfect, in terms of weather, but yesterday was it.  My kids were all home for my husband’s birthday, and most of the day was spent outdoors.  It was just too nice to be inside.  Today started out the same way, but it will be much warmer, and uncomfortable to be out doing anything.  We can expect the heat to remain this entire week, with a chance of rain almost everyday….

A Dreary, Rainy Day . . . .

After a sunny afternoon on Tuesday, clouds moved in by evening, and multiple thundershowers developed.  The first arrived around 6:30 PM, which dropped  0.46″ of rain.  Then another line of storms arrived just before midnight and dumped another quarter of an inch.  Finally, a small cell developed just to our west, and brought another downpour after midnight.  Our total rainfall was  0.74″.  Today has been dreary but no rain.  We are expecting to see a little sun this afternoon sometime….

Typical July Weather . . . .

Typical July Weather . . . .

We had a nice thunder shower early yesterday evening which left 0.21″ in my gauge.  It was one of many rain cells which moved over southern Michigan yesterday, and gave some areas over an inch of rain.  We had just a nice shower with a little thunder .  Today has been sunny but a little muggy.  Temperatures are right where they should be for this time of year, and nothing dramatic is expected any time soon.  It’s been a nice…
