A Little Snow And Cold Temperatures . . . .

A Little Snow And Cold Temperatures . . . .

We woke to a few snow pellets on our deck and below freezing temperatures.  Since then, it has warmed up a little but still below the comfortable level.  Skies look like they are attempting to clear  with some breaks in the cloud cover.  It isn’t even expected to reach 40F, so winter coats are back. Our 12 noon temperature is 33°F, the humidity is 53%, and winds are from the NW at 10-22 mph.  The wind chill is 23°F and…

Cool But Sunny . . . .

Cool But Sunny . . . .

Today doesn’t look too bad weather-wise.  Highs will be a little above average and we should see quite a bit of sun.  We had snow showers early yesterday but it all melted as it hit the ground.  Then there was a little sun in the afternoon.  It was cold as temperatures fell throughout the day. Our 12 noon temperature is 42°F (6°C), the humidity is 55%, and skies are mostly clear.   Winds  are from the south at 7-13 mph, and…

Rain, Much Cooler . . . . .

Rain, Much Cooler . . . . .

After summer-like weather on Wednesday, we are back to winter once again.  Actually, I should say back to normal.  Our teaser weather seems to be over for the remainder of the month.  States to our south were plagued with severe weather, but by the time the storms reached us, they were no more than showers.   It’s dark and dreary now, but we could see some clearing later. Our 9:30 AM temperature is 37°F, the humidity is 95%.  Winds are from…

Looking To Be A Very Nice Day . . . .

Looking To Be A Very Nice Day . . . .

Our Wednesday is beginning warm and tranquil, but we do have the chance of some heavy thunderstorms late.  We aren’t in the severe weather area, but close enough.  The reason is that there is another strong cold front knocking on our door.  We could even see snow tomorrow.  This is typical for March in Michigan with these temperature swings.  but hey usually aren’t this drastic. Our 11:15 AM temperature is 62°F (17°C), the humidity is 48%, and skies are partly…

Another Warm-up . . . .

Another Warm-up . . . .

After this last cold front, today will see highs in the 60s once again.  Unfortunately, with that comes the chance of severe weather again tomorrow.  Regardless,  we’ll just enjoy today’s mild temps and light winds.  I’m hearing rumors that temperatures could reach near  80F next week. Our 9:45 AM temperature is 47°F, the humidity is 63%, and winds are from the south at 8-10 mph.  The pressure is 30.04 in and steady, and skies are partly to mostly cloudy. …

Sunny And Cool . . . .

Sunny And Cool . . . .

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, and our local Irish Pub burned down yesterday!  How is that for timing?  No corned beef sandwiches for us today.  The weather, however, is pretty nice.  At least we have sun although temps won’t be very warm today.  Yesterday was cloudy with rain early, then snow showers in the afternoon.  The snow all melted on contact. Our 11:45 AM temp is 33°F, the humidity is 68%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the SE…

Storms Gone , Colder Temps . . . .

Storms Gone , Colder Temps . . . .

Once again, Michigan was lucky.  The southern portions of the state were under a severe TS warning for awhile, but I haven’t heard of any damage done.  I pray for those who lost everything in the tornadoes over the weekend.  About five states had a lot of damage and some deaths.  Those storms are over the eastern side of the country now and they are dealing with multiple watches and warnings.  Our morning began with temps in the 40s, but…

A Stormy Weekend . . . .

A Stormy Weekend . . . .

Yesterday was a rough day for people in the midwest and south, as a tornadoes breakout occurred.  We had remnants of some of it early this morning with a thunder and lightning event which only dropped 0.05″ of rain.  Right now, we have partly cloudy skies and strong winds.  We are under at wind advisory until 8 PM, and we currently have no power.  Thankfully, we have a generator. Our 2:30 PM temperature is 73°F, the humidity is 48% and…

Stormy Weather Ahead . . . .

Stormy Weather Ahead . . . .

Today will be lovely, but we pay for it tonight and tomorrow.  A large area of severe weather is in the forecast for today, tonight, and tomorrow.  Thankfully, Michigan is in the “slight” area but we still could see some heavy storms later tonight and on Saturday.  Temps should rise into the low 70s this afternoon before the storms form. Our 10 AM temperature is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 52%, and skies have a light cloud cover.  The pressure…

Today Will Be A Winner . . . .

Today Will Be A Winner . . . .

Today is shaping  up to be a really nice day.  It’s about as perfect as you can get in the moth of March in Michigan.  The “bomb cyclone” is expected to remain well to our south, although we will have some pretty strong winds from it.  There is a very small chance for severe weather, but that doesn’t appear likely at this time.  We could see heavy rain in some places on Saturday, and we could see our first thunderstorm….
