A Normal April Day . . . .

A Normal April Day . . . .

Starting today, our weather will become more seasonal.  Temperatures are where they should be and we have plenty of sun for our weekend.  Monday is the eclipse and it is still questionable how much we will be able to see.  Totality is a two hour drive from us, and I don’t want to drive it and then have clouds.  So I guess we’ll stay here and hope for the best.  Our view should be about 96% if we can see…

A Sunny Start But Now Overcast . . .

A Sunny Start But Now Overcast . . .

Our morning was sunny and bright, but now it is cloudy and gloomy.    Yesterday was rainy, mostly light sprinkles and mist, but it left 0.02″ in my gauge.  There is a chance for rain today but none has happened so far.  Highs will still be below average but a significant warmup is expected next week. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 45°F (7°C), the humidity is 50%, and winds are from the NW at 7-17 mph.  The dew point is 24°F…

A Drizzly, Cold Day . . . . . .

A Drizzly, Cold Day . . . . . .

It is really quite a nasty day.  The dampness goes right through you when outdoors.  Thankfully it isn’t windy.  Yesterday, we had sprinkles on and off, and even a little graupel.  There was only 0.02″ in my gauge at 8:30, and we have had misty conditions most of the morning so far.  I’m seeing a few breaks in the clouds but not enough to let the sun shine through.  This weather feels more like early March than April.  We’re making…

Another Damp And Gloomy Day . . . . .

Another Damp And Gloomy Day . . . . .

We received another 0.19″ of rain since yesterday morning, and we could get more today.  All the severe weather yesterday stayed well to our south and east, and my prayers go out for those who lost their homes.  This has been projected to be a stormy spring season for the country, and so far, Michigan has been lucky.  We should start seeing the sun on Friday, and into next week.  Monday is not looking too good for the eclipse.  My…

A Dangerous Storm Day . . . .

A Dangerous Storm Day . . . .

Although my area is not expecting severe weather today, we could see some significant thunderstorms late in the day.  The NOAA map is showing areas that could see severe storms including tornadoes.  This morning is wet and there was 0.25″ in my rain gauge at 8:30.  We have had continued light rain since then.  I’m seeing small leaves coming out on some of my bushes and my flowing crab tree. Our 10:15 AM temperature is 40°F, the humidity is 96%,…

Easter Sunday . . . .

Easter Sunday . . . .

Our Easter Sunday is gloomy and began with a few drops of rain.  The rain has stopped but the gloom remains.  It’s also quite cold out although we have light winds.  I’m not seeing any extreme warmups anytime soon, and temps will remain slightly below average until next weekend.  Early this week will be wet, then dry out for the weekend. Our 2 PM temperature is 43°F, the humidity is 83°F, and winds are from the SE at 0-3 mph. …

A Little Rain For Our Holy Saturday . . . .

A Little Rain For Our Holy Saturday . . . .

We have overcast skies and light rain this morning.  Radar is showing areas of heavy rain but most is staying to our south.  It won’t be very warm today with highs only in the mid 60s.  Tomorrow should be the pick day of the weekend. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 41°F, the humidity is 89%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the east at 3-6 mph.  Visibility is 7 miles and the pressure is 29.73 in and falling.  The…

Good Friday . . . . .

Good Friday . . . . .

Once again, we have plenty of sun on this Good Friday.  Yesterday was beautiful but the winds made it feel colder than it was.  It shouldn’t be nearly as strong today so much more pleasant to be out and about. Our 10:45 AM temperature is 40°F, the humidity is 63%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the NW at 4-7 mph, and the dew point is 26°F.  The pressure is 30.01 in and steady, and visibility is 11 miles. …

A Spring-Like Day Ahead . . .

A Spring-Like Day Ahead . . .

Our morning is beginning bright and sunny.  Temperatures should reach near the average, so it looks to be a great day.  It will be on the breezy side but that’s normal for this time of year.  Highs will be in the 50s through the weekend, and we could see some showers on Saturday night.  No complaints here. Our 10:15 AM temperature is 37°F, the humidity is 67%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the SW at 6-8 mph, and…

Cloudy And Cold . . . .

Cloudy And Cold . . . .

Yesterday was cloudy and very windy.  We had a line of showers that passed over in the afternoon, dropping almost half an inch of rain.  Another cold front is affecting us now and highs today will do well to reach 40F.  The remainder of this week is expected to be dry although there is a slight chance for rain Saturday night.  Easter is expected to be nice. Our 11:15 AM temperature is 33°F (1°C), the humidity is 82%, and skies…
