Another Record To Be Broken . . . .

Another Record To Be Broken . . . .

We should see record high temperatures once again today.  The current record high is 70F, set back in 1974.  We’re expecting highs today in the mid 70s.  It already feels pretty warm out there and some windows are already open.  I love this weather but I hope that a huge cold spell doesn’t come and freeze all the fruit buds.  I also hope that this doesn’t result in more severe weather like it did last week. Our 12:45 PM temperature…

Temps On The Rise . . . . .

Temps On The Rise . . . . .

We have sun and very mild temperatures today.  We should see some clouds a little later, but no rain is in the forecast.  We continue to have a long stretch of unseasonably warm weather and I, for one, am enjoying it.  I’m hearing of massive snowstorms in the west, and am happy with what we have.   We could see record high temps again tomorrow, and I just hope that it doesn’t bring more severe weather with it. Our 12:30 PM…

Still Above Average . . . .

Still Above Average . . . .

This past month has felt like anything but winter.  It only snowed about three time enough to cover the ground, and then it didn’t last long.  Today is expected to reach into the mid 50s, and we could see the 70s once again on Monday.  This has certainly been a winter for all of those who hate winter . . . . . . at least so far.  I’m still thinking that we could get “the big one” yet this…

Thunderstorms And Tornadoes . . . . .

Thunderstorms And Tornadoes . . . . .

After warning us all day yesterday that we had a marginal chance for severe weather, but a very slight chance for tornadoes, guess what???  Several tornadoes hit the state.  The closest to us was Grand Blanc, which is just south of Flint.  It’s about 25 miles from us.  Thankfully, I have heard of no injuries or deaths, but quite a bit of property damage.  We did have a good, summer-type thunderstorm, but nothing even close to severe.  We were lucky. …

Record Breaking High Temps Today . . . .

Record Breaking High Temps Today . . . .

Today looks and feels like a day in late April.  Unfortunately, it may bring some severe weather later this evening and tonight.  The last time we had weather this warm, this early in the season, was when we had the tornado back in 2019.  I hope we don’t see a repeat of that tonight.  It’s still early and our temps are already in the low 70s.  I think that our high may be more than what is predicted.  Regardless, it’s…

Very Warm, Possible Storms . . . .

Very Warm, Possible Storms . . . .

We have near record temperatures today and tomorrow, but another cold front will move in, giving us the possibility of strong thunderstorms tonight and early tomorrow.  I’ve noticed many of the farmers are already getting their fields fit for planting, and this has been a good week for it with no rain.  It is unusual, however, for February.  Our temperatures will drop significantly after the storms, but another warm-up will come for the weekend.  I think I have only worn…

Sunny And A Little Warmer . . . .

Sunny And A Little Warmer . . . .

Today is starting with sun, but it isn’t expected to last.  We will see highs near 50F and that’s a relief from yesterday.  There is no rain in our forecast until late Tuesday, and we could see a record high temp on that day.  Unfortunately, we could also see severe weather  That’s never a good thing but that’s what happens when we get this warm, this early. Our 10:45 AM temperature is 38°F (3°C), the humidity is 62%, and skies…

Sunny But Cold . . . . .

Sunny But Cold . . . . .

It looks like a very pretty day, but it is too cold for my liking.  Temps aren’t even expected to reach the freezing mark, but at least the sun gives the illusion of being warmer.  This cold will be short-lived with highs in the 50s and possible 60s expected for next week.  These few warm days really spoil us, and it’s difficult to remember that it is still February.  We aren’t even getting any rain which is unusual for winter…

Sunny But Chilly . . .

Sunny But Chilly . . .

Our warm weather is leaving us for a few days but expected to return soon.  This winter has been weird weather-wise but I’m not complaining.  It’s been very unfortunate for those who love winter sports.  Even our  upper peninsula hardly has any snow which is really strange for February.  Temperatures will be closer to where they should be through the weekend, then back into the 50s and even 60s early next week.  What can I say??? Our 10:30 AM temperature…

Hazy Sunshine . . . . .

Hazy Sunshine . . . . .

We have had mostly cloudy skies this morning, but now we have partly cloudy skies and haze.  After a little research, I discovered that the haze is from wildfires in Oklahoma.  We had a record temp of 62°F yesterday.  It actually tied the record from back in 1930.  It has been a strange winter and I’m hoping that we won’t pay for it in April when the flowers, bushes, and trees start coming out of dormancy.  That’s often what happens….
