Storms On The Way . . .

Storms On The Way . . .

We are expecting some pretty significant thunderstorms this afternoon.  There are none showing on radar at this time.  Skies are cloudy with a little  filtered sun shining through.  We will see a moderate decrease in our high temperatures over the next week, on some days not even reaching the 70s.  I’ll take that over the  90s anytime. Our 11:45 AM temp is 77°F (25°C), the humidity is 76%, and winds are from the south at 10-13 mph, gusting higher at…

A Very Summer-Like Day . . . .

A Very Summer-Like Day . . . .

Today will be one of the hottest that we’ve seen this year, maybe even a record breaker.  It will usher in more rain and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.  Then much cooler weather will be around for awhile as the 8-14 day temperature map shows.  I love it.  Hot weather and I just don’t get along too well. Our 11:15 AM temperature is 79°F, the humidity is 64%, and skies are lightly cloud covered.  Winds are from the SW at 4-7…

Rain To Start The Day . . . . .

Rain To Start The Day . . . . .

Rain began late yesterday afternoon and continued through the overnight.  There was 0.19″ in my gauge this morning, and we had a fine mist at that time.  Now it is just cloudy and we should see some clearing late in the day.  I don’t think that temps will reach the expected high unless the sun makes a showing. Our 3 PM temperature is only 67°F (19°C), the humidity is 87%, and winds are from the east at 1-5 mph.  The…

First Day Of Meteorological Summer . . . . .

First Day Of Meteorological Summer . . . . .

Summer begins today according to the Weather Service, and I agree.  It will feel very summer-like with highs expected in the upper 70s.  Our day is beginning with a light cloud cover and filtered sun.  There is a chance for rain later on and overnight.  There will be just enough breeze to keep it comfortable, so it should be enjoyable. Our 11 AM temperature is 71°F (22°C), the humidity is 47%, and winds are from the SE at 3-8 mph. …

Lovely Weather . . . . .

Lovely Weather . . . . .

We had to go to Detroit early this morning, and the weather is lovely.  Skies are almost clear and the temperature is perfect.  Temperatures will remain in the 70s through the weekend, then back to the 80s again next week.  I’m loving it as long as it doesn’t get very humid. Our 3 PM temperature is 74°F (23°C), the humidity is 30%, and winds are from the SW at 5-9 mph.  The pressure is 30.26 in (1024.7 mb) and falling,…

Not A Bad Day . . . .

Not A Bad Day . . . .

After a mostly dreary Tuesday, today is pretty nice.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s and it is breezy but not too bad.  It’s perfect for getting some yard work done.  The current forecast isn’t calling for anymore rain until Saturday.  That’s fine.  I think we have enough for now. Our 1:15 PM temperature is 64°F (18°C), the humidity is 70%, and skies are partly cloudy.    Winds are from the north at 3-9 mph, and the pressure is 30.21…

Cool But Pleasant . . . .

Cool But Pleasant . . . .

Our morning was wet, but now the sky is clearing and it seems though the rain is done for now.  We still have a chance for some showers this afternoon, but I like the sun better.  We had light rain and drizzle all day yesterday and there was 0.21″ in my rain gauge.  Temps should rise to near 70°F, so it will be comfortable. Our 12:45 PM temperature is 70°F, the humidity is 64%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds…

Gloomy And Wet Memorial Day . . . .

Gloomy And Wet Memorial Day . . . .

It is not a pretty day for those driving home from their holiday venues.  We had quite a bit of rain late yesterday and overnight.  There was 0.35″ in my rain gauge, and quite a few lightning strikes on my weather station.  I wasn’t aware of any thunder, so I must have slept through it.  Today began with fog and light sprinkles and mist.  The sky looked pretty stormy but is now just overcast grey.  The biggest issue is the…

Expecting Rain . . . .

Expecting Rain . . . .

We had a campfire last night and the weather was perfect.  Temps were nice with a light jacket, no mosquitoes, and clear skies with plenty of stars.  We were even serenaded by coyotes, and saw the International Space Station fly over.  Couldn’t get any better than that.   Today is supposed to be dry until later, then thunderstorms are expected by tonight.  Our morning was sunny but clouds are starting to develop.  Overall, it’s a very nice holiday weekend. Our 12:45…

Rain, Then Some Sun . . . .

Rain, Then Some Sun . . . .

Our morning began with some thunder and a little rain.  Now the sky has partially cleared.  It looks to be a decent day and temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s.  I think the rain is finished for now but thunderstorms could still happen tonight and tomorrow. Our 11:45 PM temperature is 72°F, the humidity is 75%, and skies are mostly cloudy.  Winds are from the west at 6-11 mph and the pressure is 29.87 in and steady.  The…
