Sunny But Very Cold . . . . .

Sunny But Very Cold . . . . .

Today isn’t bad at all for a February day.  We have clear skies and light winds.  It’s perfect for doing anything outdoors that needs to be done.  There is no precipitation in the forecast until late Wednesday or Thursday, so the lawn will have a chance to dry out a bit.  Clouds are starting to appear in the western sky, but nothing significant.  I expect it to be a very nice day. Our 12 Noon temperature is 39°F (4°C), the…

Yes, It’s February . . . . .

Yes, It’s February . . . . .

It certainly feels like February today, and our high temperature will be about where it should be on this date.  Most of our temps this week will still be above average, but it feels very cold compared to the past few days.  We’ll probably have to pay for it in April. Our 3 PM temperature is 36°F, the humidity is 72%, and skies are cloudy with the sun peeking through a little.  Winds are from the SW at 2-7 mph…

Record High Temps . . . . .

Record High Temps . . . . .

Yesterday broke the record for high temps on Feb 9.  There was plenty of sun but strong winds made outdoor activities difficult.  Today is much different with highs not expected to rise out of the 30s.  Our morning is cloudy but we could see some sun this afternoon.  Temperatures will be cool all this week, but still above average. Our 10:15 AM temperature is 39°F, the humidity is 77%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from he west at 4-12…

Some Overnight Thunder . . . . .

Some Overnight Thunder . . . . .

Our Thursday was wonderful with clear skies most of the day, and very warm temperatures.  Today looks to be about the same but with much more wind.  We had a little rain overnight with a few claps of thunder.  It was our first thunder of the year.  Highs yesterday came close to the record and it will today also.  Winds will be strong , ahead of the cold front, and weather closer to normal will set in next week.  Oh…

A Little Sun This Morning . . . .

A Little Sun This Morning . . . .

Our morning began with filtered sun and a light cloud cover.  It is now partly cloudy and quite pleasant.  Our temperatures will be very warm, possibly as high as the 50s, and winds will be light.  Tomorrow will be our last warm day for awhile, but possible rain is in the forecast late in the day. Our 11 AM temperature is 38°F (3°C), the humidity is 70%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the south at 3-6 mph…

Another Foggy Morning . . . . .

Another Foggy Morning . . . . .

We lost our sun for a day or so, but the fog this morning treated us to some hoar frost.  We don’t see it very often, but it is very pleasant to see when it happens.  Temperatures will be a little cooler than yesterday, but a big warmup is coming by Thursday.  Temps are expected to reach well into the 50s, and that will be a treat. Our 12:30 PM temperature is 30°F (-1°C), the humidity is 98%, and skies…

Another Beautiful Sunny Day . . . .

Another Beautiful Sunny Day . . . .

Once again, we have clear skies and warmer temperatures.  It looks like spring outdoors but the wind is a bit chilly.  The ambiance is taking on the look of spring with the sun moving higher in the sky.  I always think of February as a month of beautiful sunsets which I can see out the back window of my family room.  It also brings us more sunny days and hints of what’s to come.  The worst of winter is over. …

Finally, Some Sun!!!

Finally, Some Sun!!!

We only had two sunny days in January.  They were Jan. 2 and Jan. 15.  Oh sure, there were a few others where it peeked out for about two minutes, and that was it.  But finally, today we’ll have Mr. sun present for a good portion of the day, and that will be lovely.  What’s even better is that we are expecting a few more sunny days this upcoming week.  Mother Nature is finally giving us a reprieve from the…

Cooler Temps For Groundhog Day . . . .

Cooler Temps For Groundhog Day . . . .

It will be a little cooler today than yesterday, with a minor cold front moving over us.  Fortunately, it won’t last long, and warmer air will move in starting tomorrow.  In fact, we could see highs in the low 50s by the end of the week.  The meme above shows how much daylight we should gain through February, and it shows the northern states gaining the most.  The dark days of winter are starting to come to an end. Our…

Nicer Weather On The Way . . . .

Nicer Weather On The Way . . . .

Although dreary weather will still be with us a few more days, next weeks sounds really good.  Temperatures are supposed to be in the 40s all week and quite a few sunny days.  Just seeing the sun again will put everyone in a better mood.  We still have a little snow on the ground, but I’m sure that will be gone by tonight.  A warmup will start today with highs expected in the mid 40s.  I doubt that we’ll see…
