Yesterday was an unbelievable day of severe storms and tornadoes throughout the mid-section of the US. It began fairly early in the afternoon, and continued throughout the night. We had just a nice summer-type thunderstorm around 9 PM, which dumped a little over and inch of rain on us. We woke to moderate rain this morning and it has continued since then. There was 0.29″ in my rain gauge at 8:30. Temperatures will be quite warm today giving us a small chance for severe weather tonight. The greatest chance is for the states to our south with a good chance for tornadic activity in these areas. My condolences to the people of Mississippi who were victimized last night by devastating tornadoes. It isn’t very warm today but light winds make it comfortable. We received a little rain overnight but barely enough to get things wet. Today has been cloudy but dry.
