With the warm temps over the past 2 days, our snow cover has now dwindled to about 10%. With the rain expected tonight and tomorrow, that will probably take care of the rest of it. We still have about 2 inches of snow pack remaining, and it had a light layer of ice over it this morning. Yesterday was very cold and the wind chill made it worse. Temperatures were at their lowest just before midnight, then they began to rise shortly after and continued all night. We will see this continue all day with our high for the day happening around sunset. The remainder of the week will see temps rising to above average once again, and I hope that they remain there for a while. I just hope that this warmup doesn’t bring severe weather…

Although the PA groundhog, Phil, is predicting more winter ahead, NOAA is saying something else. My picture shows NOAA’s recent temperature predictions for almost half of February and it is showing a significant warmup for the eastern half of the US. So who will be right? Science or rodent?
