Mid Michigan Weather

Yesterday’s blustery conditions resulted in an extraordinary sunset which drew a lot of attention from area photographers.  The picture above is just one, but there are many more on the Michigan weather group on Facebook.  These pictures are amazing and the sky kept changing  colors every few minutes.  Strong winds continued into the overnight, but they had calmed substantially by this morning.  The strongest wind gust that I’ve seen was 63 mph in Mt. Daylight Savings Time ends tonight.  We are under a wind advisory today until 9PM, with gusts expected up to  50 mph.  So far we haven’t seen any that strong but it is windy enough to make it uncomfortable to be outdoors.  We haven’t seen much of the sun today either and rain is in the forecast for tonight.  Radar isn’t showing any rain close to us yet but mostly for tonight.  The maple trees are still hanging on to a…

Highs today will reach the 70°F mark, and this is expected to last until Sunday.  It is a bit breezy today and there is plenty of sun.  Unfortunately, driving can be a challenge with the sun so low in the sky.  The visors in the car sometimes just aren’t big enough.  This is the only time when I wish for cloudy skies, when I have to drive somewhere. Once again, our morning began with fog, but it wasn’t as dense as previous mornings.  The sun appeared rather quickly and it burned off right away.  We could see highs near 70°F this afternoon so it will be another great day to get out and enjoy while it lasts.  These warm temps are expected to last through the weekend but with them will come rain.  Oh well, at least it isn’t snow. We had dense fog early this morning but it burned off quickly.  Now it is sunny with a few clouds in the sky and light winds.  Temperatures should reach the low to mid 60s so it’s going to be a winner of a day.  Not sure yet what I’ll be doing but I’ll try to get out and enjoy it as much as I can.
