Wild Thunderstorms On Monday Afternoon – Mid Michigan

Thunderstorms developed right over our area yesterday afternoon putting an end to our dry spell.  I never did hear what the highest gust of wind was but I’m speculating that it had to be around 50-60  mph.  Many trees were down in Owosso and power was out most of the night.  I was in Owosso when it hit so I’m not sure how bad it was at my house, but there didn’t seem to be any damage although there was 0.80″ in my rain gauge.  My son and I were in the truck waiting for my husband to com out of a store when it hit.  Winds were making the truck rock a little and the windshield looked like we were parked under a waterfall.  There were no storm warnings issued for us because the storm had just formed  over us.  As it moved east, storm warnings were issued for those counties.  It didn’t do much to relieve us from the heat and today could see a repeat.

Our 9:15 AM temperature is 76°F (24°C), the humidity is 68% and the dew point is 65°F (18°C).  Winds are from the southwest at 9 mph.  The pressure is 29.96 in (1014.6 mb) and falling.  Visibility is 10 miles and skies are mostly clear.  Yesterday’s high wa 91°F (33°C) and the overnight low was 71°F (22°C).  Averages for this date are 82°F / 59°F.  Sunrise was at 6:11 AM and sunset will be at 9:14 PM.
