We were warned by a local meteorologist that we could get a frost last night, and it did indeed happen. There were no warnings or advisories posted since NOAA figured that the growing season is over. The past two days have been extremely wet with a total of 1.84″of rain since Monday. After a very dry September, Mother Nature decided to remedy the rain deficit all at once. Today is beginning with very mild temperatures and mostly cloudy skies. There is heavy rain showing on radar but it hasn’t reached us as yet. Many areas of the state are under flood watches and warnings in anticipation of what is coming, and some areas have already received an inch of rain. Tonight will bring the leading edge of a cold front which will take our temperatures to a normal range by mid week. Today will still be wonderful but by Wednesday, it will be down right cold. Yesterday’s weather was outstanding, and today should be very similar. It’s going to be hard to part with this autumn’s weather when normalcy finally reaches us. We have three days of temperatures in the 70s to look forward to before more cold air moves in on us. We could see our first frost next week with highs only in the 40s expected by mid week.
