Rain, Snow, Winds For Our Sunday – Mid Michigan
The winds began to roar around 10 AM this morning and it is raising quite a bit of havoc around the state. The Mackinaw Bridge is closed after a sheet of ice fell from one of the towers onto the windshield of a pickup truck, putting a big hole in it. Luckily, it was on the passenger side so the driver wasn’t injured. After that, they closed the bridge. With these winds, I’m surprised that it was even open at all. So far, we haven’t lost power although quite a few are without around the state. There was 0.22″ in my rain gauge this morning and we had intermittent rain showers all night long. The snow began around 11 AM and the temps have been falling all morning.
Our 2:15 PM temperature is 34.2°F (1°C), the humidity is 90% and winds are from the west at 26 mph, gusting to 36 mph. Skies are overcast. We are having intermittent snow squalls and visibility is 2 miles. The pressure is 29.30 in and rising. The dew point is 30°F (-1°C). Yesterday’s high was 45°F (7°C) and the overnight low was 34°F (1°C).
