Tornado Cleanup Continues – Mid Michigan

There are still a lot of road closures in the Durand area and authorities are warning people to stay away from the affected areas.  There appears to be much more damage than what I first thought.  There were two tornadoes that went through our county.  The first was an EF0, and the second is now claimed to be an EF2.  That’s the one that hit Vernon, a small village five miles to our east.  There is another confirmed tornado that hit Flushing, which is to our northeast.  There is a condo campground about 6 miles from us that was totally wiped out.  Thankfully, it isn’t camping season yet.  We haven’t ventured out yet since the storm, so we haven’t personally seen the damage ourselves.

Our 10:15 AM temperature is 32°F (0°C), the humidity is 73% and skies are clear.  Winds are from the west at 10 mph giving us a wind chill of 24°F (-4°C).  Visibility is 10 miles.  The dew point is 24°F (-4°C).  The pressure is 30.20 in (1022.7 mb) and rising.  Yesterday’s high was 45°F (7°C) and the overnight low was 28°F (-2°C).  Average temps for this date are 42°F / 27°F.
