Winter Storm Warning This Evening – Mid Michigan

Winter Storm Warning This Evening – Mid Michigan

Everyone is busy getting ready for the storm.  Stores are crowded with last minute shoppers and I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere today.  Rain and snow is supposed to begin sometime this afternoon, but the warning doesn’t go into effect until 7 PM.  At this time, estimated snow amounts expected are 5-8 inches for my area.  The big issue will be the wind.  We could see gusts up to 50 mph, and sustained winds at 24-35 mph.  No blizzard warning has been issued for us yet, but I expect that to happen by the time this storm is over.

Our 1:15 PM temperature is 38°F, the humidity is 76%, and skies are cloudy.  The dew point is 28°F.  Winds are from the SE at 0-6 mph and visibility is 10 miles.  The wind chill is 33°F.  Yesterday’s high was 33°F and the overnight low was 25°F.  Average temps for this date are 33°F / 21°F.  Sunrise was at 8:06 AM and sunset will be at 5:06 PM.
