Last Sunny Day For A While – Mid Michigan

Our Wednesday began with clear skies and very cold temperatures.  It was 13°F when I got up at 8:30.  Since then it has warmed a little but not much.  This will be warm compared to what is coming next week.  Some days won’t even make it out of the teens, and single digits at night.  This is pretty cold for December in Michigan although not unprecedented.  We usually don’t get this cold until January.  We are currently under a winter storm watch beginning at 10PM Thursday night, and that will remain until 10PM on Saturday.  There is still some uncertainty as to exactly what we can expect, but snow amounts of 6-8 inches seems to be what most weather people are saying that we can get.  I have heard, however, that a foot of snow is not out of the question.  I guess we’ll know by late Saturday, won’t we?

Our 2:30 PM temperature is 24°F, the humidity is 68%, and skies are cloudy.  The dew point is 13°F and winds are from the ESE at 1-4 mph.  The pressure is 30.14 in and falling, and visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 30°F and the overnight low was 13°F.  Average temps for this date are 33°F / 21°F.  Sunrise was at 8:05 AM and sunset will be at 5:05 PM.
