Southern Michigan Is A Mess This Morning
Looking at the power outage maps this morning, I feel very fortunate. My picture is from my son who lives near Detroit. So many without power this morning, but we aren’t one of them. Our lights blinked off for about 10 seconds, but then came back on. I feel blessed. Yes, we have two generators but they only power half the house and that’s better than nothing. Our ground is covered with 1.5″ of frozen slush. We had mostly sleet mixed with some freezing rain, but nothing like what they got south of us. We went through this back in Dec. of 2013, so I know what it’s like.
Our 10 AM temperature is 29°F (-2°C), the humidity is 96%, and skies are cloudy. Winds are from the ESE at 2-4 mph, and the dew point is 26°F (-3°C). The pressure is 29.94 in (1014 mb) and steady, and visibility is 3 miles. Yesterday’s high was 33°F (1°C) and the overnight low was 25°F (-4°C). Average temps for this date are 35°F / 19°F. Record temps for Feb. 22 are 63°F / -17°F. Sunrise was at 7:24 AM and sunset will be at 6:18 PM.
