Very Cold And Windy . . .

Very Cold And Windy . . .

Wind is the big issue today, and with these very cold temperatures, it feels like a day in mid January.  Thankfully, the forecast is calling for a significant warm-up next week.  Lake effect snow showers continue to plague the west and north sides of the state, but I’m sure that the ski resorts are loving it.  Most have had a hard time the past several years with snow being sparse.  My area gets very little lake effect;  just an occasional squall which doesn’t last long.

Our 1 PM temperature is 31°F, the humidity is 79%, and winds are from the south at 17-25 mph.  Skies are overcast and there has been no precipitation so far today.  The pressure is 29.43 in ins and falling.  The dew point is 23°F and the wind chill is 20°F.  Visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 36°F and the overnight low was 26°F.  Average temps for this date are 38°F/25°F.  Record temps for Dec. 3 are 65°F (1982) and -8°F (2002).  Sunrise was at 7:53 AM and sunset was at 5:03 PM.
