Our weather has calmed down and the storm system that was over us has moved on the the east.  Today is wet, but most of the rain has moved east.  Radar is showing no rain to our west although overcast skies remain. Our 3:30 PM temperature is 49°F, the humidity is 73%, and winds are from the west at 7-11 mph, and the pressure is 29.70 in and rising.  The dew point is 39°F and visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s…

Storm System Finally Ending . . . .

The severe storm system which has affected us the past four days is finally ending after today.  They will still be firing to our west, but our storm chances are very slight.  We could still see a thunderstorm overnight, but nothing severe is expected. Our 1:45 PM temperature is 71°F, the humidity is 67%, and skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the SSE at 0-7 mph and the pressure is 29.90 in and falling.  The dew point is 54°F…

Quiet After The Storms . . . .

Quiet After The Storms . . . .

We are beginning another significant cool-down which has caused this latest round of tornadic weather.  There were 8 confirmed tornadoes from Tuesday night state wide.  One of them was 5 miles away from us, but only an EF0.  That’s bad enough.  Other than tornadoes, there was a lot of wind and hail damage.  The warm weather is always nice, but too often, this is the result.  At least it’s really opening the buds on trees and bushes. Our 4:15 PM…

A Bit Of Calming For Our Wednesday . . .

A Bit Of Calming For Our Wednesday . . .

After a very stormy night, this morning still brought some light rain.  We received over an inch of rain in Tuesday’s storms.  They began moving into the state in late afternoon, then continued through the overnight.  There was intense lightning, a few tornadoes, and a lot of damaging wind.  We were under a tornado warning for about an hour late last night, but we were lucky once again.  These storms just added to the flooding and many dams in the…

A Very Stormy Afternoon . . . .

A Very Stormy Afternoon . . . .

Although my area hasn’t had any storms yet, northern Michigan, and some areas in mid Michigan, are battling the flooding situation.  As the weather map shows, there is a large area in the severe area for today, although we’re expecting ours overnight.    The storms affecting Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana will be heading our way overnight.  Ryan Hall is covering it on YouTube, and I’m sure the Michigan Weather Chasers will also be very soon.  Right now, we have…

Record Warmth For The Week Ahead . . . .

Record Warmth For The Week Ahead . . . .

This upcoming week will feel like late May or early June.  Highs will reach into the 70s everyday and I’m expecting many records will be broke or tied.    With that comes the possibilities of severe weather, mostly on Wednesday along with more heavy rain.  The city of Cheboygan is on alert for their dam failing, and there are concerns for other dams in the state.  Today is very pleasant although on the windy side.  We had cloudy skies this…

Cloudy, Damp And Cool . . . .

Cloudy, Damp And Cool . . . .

Today isn’t as nice as yesterday, but we have much warmer weather to look forward to this weekend and early next week.  Unfortunately,  it increases our chances for severe weather during that time.  We have to take the good with the bad, and hopefully, it won’t be that bad. Our 2:15 PM temperature is 47°F, the humidity is 83%, and skies are overcast.  We had a little rain overnight, but none since then.  Winds are from the north at 4-7…

Spring Weather Has Returned . . . . .

Spring Weather Has Returned . . . . .

Our morning began with overcast skies, and the deck was damp from a little overnight rain.  There was  0.08″ in my gauge.  Now skies are almost clear and temperatures have risen to the mid 60s.  It is quite breezy but it is a warm breeze.  The lawn is still pretty waterlogged from all the weekend rain.  Unfortunately, there is more to come. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 68°F, the humidity is 28%, and skies are mostly clear.  Winds are from…

A Warmup Begins . . . .

A Warmup Begins . . . .

Today begins another round of very warm weather.  Hopefully it will last awhile.  Our skies were clear this morning, but now we have mostly clouds.  We could see highs in the 70s this weekend, and as usual, it will come with some rain.  Our rivers are overflowing now, so we certainly can do without that. Our 12:15 PM temperature is 43°F, the humidity is 49%, and winds are from the south at 6-9 mph.  The pressure is 30.27 in and…
