A Very Cold Morning In Mid Michigan

We had our first hard freeze last night and some areas of the state reported snow flurries.  If we had gotten any precipitation overnight, I’m sure it also would have been snow.  My roses and mums survived and I haven’t looked at my hanging plants yet.  I set them right next to the house so I think they should be okay.  Looking ahead, I’m seeing more 70 degree days next week, but rain is also expected.  We are losing more minutes of daylight quickly and it is now completely dark at 8 pm.  The dark days of winter are ahead and soon the holidays will be upon us.

Our 11:15 am temperature is 47°F, the humidity is 68%, and winds are from the SW at 6-16 mph.  Skies are cloudy.  The pressure is 29.98 in and steady, and visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 72°F and the overnight low was 30°F.  Average temps for this date are 64°F / 43°F.  Sunrise was at 7:42 am and sunset will be at 7:07 pm.
