Today is the coldest that we’ve had this year, and there is no relief coming anytime soon.  We could see temps falling below zero for the first time in two years.  Our winter weather advisory has been changed to a wind chill advisory through tomorrow.  The sun is shining through a thin cloud layer but doing nothing to warm it up.  The roads are a mess and law enforcement is advising everyone who doesn’t have to be out, to stay home.  It was hard measuring the snow this morning with all the drifting, but I estimate that we got about two inches of new snow, and three inches of total snow cover.  There are many without power this morning and I’m thankful that we have ours.

Our 10:30 AM temperature is 9°F, the humidity is 82%, and skies are mostly clear.  Winds are from the SW at 8-19 mph, giving us a wind chill of -4°F.  Visibility is 7 miles and the dew point is 3°F.  Yesterday’s high was 35°F and the overnight low was 7°F.  Average temps for this date are 30°F/16°F.  The record high for Jan. 13 is 59°F set in 1950, and the record low is -17°F set in 1912.  Sunrise was at 8:07 AM and sunset will be at 5:26 PM.
