A Messy Weather Day Ahead . . . .
We have a moderate snow shower happening at this time. This is expected to eventually turn to freezing rain this afternoon, so it will be a good day just to stay indoors and stay warm. I’m hearing that Phil, the Pennsylvania groundhog saw his shadow this morning, so it looks like those folks will have 6 more weeks of winter. I haven’t heard anything yet from Michigan’s groundhog, but I haven’t seen any sun this morning. So if they tell us that he saw his shadow, I’ll be convinced that the whole thing is rigged. That rodent has about as much credibility as the Farmers Almanac in my opinion and that isn’t much.
Our 10 AM temperature is 23°F (-5°C), the humidity is 93%, and skies are over cast with snow. Winds are from the SE at 2-6 mph, and the pressure is 29.92 in (1013.2 mb) and falling. The wind chill is 19°F (-7°C), the dew point is 20°F (-7°C) and visibility is 1 mile. Yesterday’s high was 31°F (-1°C) and the overnight low was 20°F (-7°C). Average temps for this date are 30°F/15°F. Record temps for Feb. 1 are 55°F (2012) and -17°F (1959). Sunrise was at 7:51 AM and sunset will be at 5:51 PM.
