Storms Didn’t Disappoint . . . . .
After a very stormy nights, we woke to clear skies and bright sunshine this morning. The storms rolled through my area between 11 pm and midnight. They brought heavy rain and strong winds with them. I think my area got off easy and I haven’t heard of any significant damage nearby. There were tornado and severe storm warnings for about 4-5 hours, mostly to our western counties. There were many reports of possible tornadoes but we have to wait for the national weather service to make the final determination. We have another chance for thunderstorms again tonight, but nothing severe is expected. Ryan Hall, a YouTube weather analyst, always goes live on his channel whenever there is severe weather anywhere. Last night he made the remark that he never thought he would be covering a major tornado outbreak in Michigan. Looking at the national weather map, it looks like more severe weather is expected for our southern neighbors.
Our 12:15 PM temperature is 76°F, the humidity is 63%, and winds are from the south at 2-5 mph. Skies are clear and the pressure is 29.55 in and falling. The heat index is 78F and the dew point is 56°F. Visibility is 11 miles. Yesterday’s high was 84°F and the overnight low was 60°F. The average temps for this date are 69°F/46°F. Record temps for May 15 are 89°F (1962) and 29°F (1973).
