Sub Zero Temps In Mid Michigan This Morning

When I got up at shortly after 8 this morning, my thermometer read -4°F.  That’s the coldest that we have seen in quite awhile.  We had light to moderate snow showers early Saturday that left us with an additional 1.5 inches of new snow.  We now have about 3 inches of snow cover.  Today is very sunny but it won’t do much to warm things up.  In fact, the high is only expected to reach the single digits.  There is going to be a lunar eclipse tonight which will begin at 11:41 PM and it is also a blood moon, so it should be quite a sight.  Unfortunately, it is going to be very cold.  I’m happy that I should be able to see it out my window.

Our 10:30 AM temperature is 5°F (-15°C), the humidity is 67%, and winds are from the NW at 9 mph, gusting to 17 mph, giving us a wind chill of -9°F (-23°C).  The pressure is 30.18 in (1022.0 mb) and rising.  Visibility is 10 miles and the dew point is -3°F (-19°C).  Yesterday’s high was 24°F (-4°C) and the overnight low was -4°F (-20°C)  Averages for this date are 27°F / 15°F.
