A Blustery, Very Cold Day In Mid Michigan

I had to go out early this morning and to say that it is bitter cold is an understatement.  Highs today will only reach the teens and this will continue into next week.  In fact, there is no real warmup expected until at least early February.  We had some light snow showers this morning, mainly lake effect.  The sun came out between them and there are some breaks in the cloud cover right now.  Radar is showing lake effect snow showers around Grand Rapids, and near the Straits of Mackinaw up north.  The wind chill is the real problem today.

Or 1:30 PM temperature is 15°F (-9°C), winds are from the SW at 21 mph, gusting to 25 mph,.  Skies are mostly cloudy.  The pressure is 30.05 in (1017.6 mb) and rising.  The dew point is 6°F (-14°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  The wind chill is -1°F (-18°C).  Yesterday’s high was 30°F (-1°C) and the overnight low was 12°F (-11°C).  Averages for this date are 26°F / 13°F.
